The John Wilson Trophy GerryK

John was a keen golfer who commenced his journey playing golf courses such as Ruchill & Lethamhill in Glasgow whereby, he would often challenge his sons and friends to the odd game.
As his love of the game grew from his joy of watching the likes of Lee Trevino, Jack Nichlaus & Seve on the BBC, his enthusiasm to improve his game became greater when following much overtime and hard work he managed to enter the then golf elite and join a “Private” golf club – Hayston, Kirkintilloch. He would often regale later to his wife Ina and family – if they would listen, about that missed putt or great shot.
He leaves this Trophy in the safe hands of his sons, and would congratulate anyone good enough to cope with the nerves of the challenge on the day and win this fine Trophy – good luck!!
